Real flags
Flags that are or were ever actually used, as long as they’re documented. National flags, old and current. States, regions, cities, Indigenous peoples, pride flags, organisations, movements, military flags, naval flags, and more.
Left out flags
Things that are neither clearly real nor fake: proposals that were never adopted, flags with little to no documentation, very obscure flags, and flags whose use is heavily disputed.
Fake flags
Fan redesigns, reimagined flags, mashups of two or more real flags, and designs generated by software. Many come from Reddit and flag forums, and some are made by me!
